Lineless looks good! But for this particular work where its quite simple, I think that the lines actually help to bring the attention to the character - it gives her a little more dimension and helps to make her stand out.
Venice is known to be one of the most romantic cities, so I chose pink for the background as the colour is commonly associated with love and Valentine's Day etc. Maybe I could also incorporate some subtle repeat pattern of all the other things associated with my cities to the coloured backgrounds? but again, is it necessary? do I have the time?
