In the last visual language class, we all had a look at other people's paintings, drawings, photographs etc that we sent Matt that we considered to have a strong or visible line of sight - the one below was the one I sent (without the writing and arrows)
we all drew little thumbs of everyone's images
and drew the line of sight that was visible to us
Below is a page from the art of The Princess and the Frog book which shows some examples of line of sight or 'compositional flow' that were used in the animated feature film Bambi - this shows that this principle is adaptable to all media and contexts and not just illustration:
