(from left to right: Scuba diving, mountain climbing, paragliding)
These are the sketches for my t-shirt designs which will be sent to the client once digitised. However, I am going to expand on the product range to make this brief more significant. I want to make some screen prints of varying sizes out of these, which is why I have kept the imagery really simple - simple compositions, simple shapes (inspired by Filiskun) - because I want more of the focus to be on the process. Compositions are also kept quite similar to one another to ensure that they would work as set. To make it a bit more complicated, I have decided that I'm going to try screen printing with 3 colours. This will be a challenge for me because the most that I've done is with 2 colours on white stock. This time, I also plan on printing onto coloured stock (so it'll look like I used 4 colours) - I found out this is the secret to Chris Thornley's amazing large scale screen prints!
As well as Filiskun, I was inspired by Wendy Park's illustrations where she has contained everything within a shape. I thought it looked quite striking and gives you more of a challenge as you have to try making your composition look good within a constrained format:
