Basically, I had all these great ideas in my head for this brief but when it came to actually visualising things, I struggled a little bit. I kept going back and forth with how I wanted things to be and just couldn't settle on what I was doing - which really frustrated me! I decided to just start doing, sketching etc. something'll probably come from it! I also decided to look at Malika Favre's other works - because I just love the simplicity of her work - in hopes that it will inspire me with some compositions.
Then I came across this piece of work above and I really liked it. I thought instead of illustrating a full body figure, I could just illustrate a part of them and their shadow as an opera singer/character etc.
Target audience is 20 - 30 year olds. I decided to do a list of things this age group could be doing/where they would be seen etc:
Everything is definitely still quite rough. I'm still trying to think about what I can do improve the visual side of things, but both me and Becca thought that the gold/red colour scheme and the woman poster works better. Also, not sure whether to get rid of the light bits or not - if we do, we'd be able to enlarge 'Reflect your inner opera' like so:
I'm going to re-draw the shadow, develop the type a bit more, and maybe experiment with adding some gradients/extra touches to make it look more interesting.
